Since Jaws set the standard for blockbusters today, in 1975, the public runs the theater for the summer movie season of action films, comedies and even catching a pair of Oscar hopefuls. Not so this year. In most unopened movies or working with social distancing measures in the United States, most of the big-budget movie set to release their summer and Wonder Woman 1984 Tenet, Top Gun: I’m a widow Maverick, Mulan and white or their first delayed until the autumn, until 2021 or indefinitely. But some viewers’ comfort in the fact that many films move from theater to video-on-demand or, in some cases, were always set to release for streaming.
