The singer-songwriter Jewel is not easy to have education. His childhood was marked by neglect, abuse and fear. At 18, she became homeless. Jewel began writing songs, not knowing how else to deal with, and when he sang in bars for an audience, he saw his own fear reflected in his back. “I have been watching people in pain every day,” he said at the time. “I have to figure out what to make a commitment in my life to try and pain. This trip has put me in this music involved in an incredible adventure, but it was the only target number is always: How do I beg for me? How can I fight for my happiness? “In a recent series of time for health Talk, jewel and her friend Dr. Blaise Aguirre, assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, talked about creative ways for young people of their mental health during times of stress to care. Create a written as a form of awareness is Jewel, it helps her stay in the present moment, without self-judgment. In their early years, “every time I wrote, I learned something,” he said. “I noticed that the things that I do not recognize, I noticed, and I felt calmer and less anxious. If you are careful and curious, you are forced into the present.” There is no need to support an artist, poet, painter or the sculptor for creativity your sanity. “I believe that creativity in a way not only for art focused,” said Aguirre. Instead, think of it as an expansion of the mind or things in a new and happy to see the way in which non-essential to do something tangible. “Maybe for a walk is the new creation, because now you’re out, and you see the world in a new way,” he said. Do not dismiss the little things Aguirre believes in the benefits of living a “life antidepressant”: one full of life choices that can instantly improve the mood. “There are things you can do that will lift your spirits considerably,” said Aguirre. These can include all activities that read like hiking or book that the brain stops stimulating the brain fixation on negative thoughts and spend some time outdoors chemicals that increase happiness. Meditate, do sports and to promote help social connections. Oh, to be so, and not skipped this. “You can not be sad at the same time jump,” said Aguirre. He has certainly made his therapy session once jumped Aguirre with one of his patients over the campus of Harvard. They looked ridiculous, but “when we arrived, they had both lifted our moods,” said Aguirre. In another patient, he tried teasing out loud serotonin release, until it is connected to the patient. Strange, he knows it, but it helps. Of course, drugs are often useful and necessary, and mental illness can not be solved only by a chuckle. But the simple strategies such as these can have real effects. “There are conditions for happiness now,” said Aguirre. “Little things can make big changes.” To change our negative thoughts and the little script that Jewel have in childhood, feel better help, was actively notice to try and compulsions have maintained the negative thoughts and train to change them. When he felt every time the urge to shoplifting, for example, he forced her to be able to write a song. At first they hated, but they replace a bad habit with a good, the more they grew to like it. Finally, it was to write 10 songs a day. Through their love, Jewel now share these strategies with the children. “We treat what photos we show on social media, but we do not treat our thoughts,” said Jewel. “But you can. Once you start to teach children that you get to see these kids running around.” Scientifically, negative thoughts and inner dialogues really the power to change your brain for the worse. “The way to learn something through,” said Aguirre. “Repeat When negative thoughts are repeated, your brain is good at negative thoughts. Repeat, no one ever I do. ‘Repeat, suck my life.’ repeat, I depressed bin .. ‘And then look at things in an environment that says this is the way you should feel that you want to think you only get good;. does your brain rewire “the solution is not , deceiving to think that things are great “But you must understand that this is a model,” said Aguirre. “Once you start to see the world through this lens, you lose out on all the other wonderful things that are.” Where we focus questions. image copyright
